Pastel Workshop

Paint the Rockies with Pastels-
Sign ups have begun!!
(beginning–intermediate level)
With Well Known Guest Artist, Mary Giacomini
Dates & Time:
March 28th & 29th, 9:00am- 4:00pm
Class Description:
Come and paint the Rocky Mountain Landscape with pastels. In this class you’ll learn the basics of pastel painting and a few techniques that I’ve found to be very useful. Learn how to compose a successful painting, use under painting to give you artwork shimmer and different applications of pastels. You’ll see how using sanded paper makes a huge difference in your pastel painting. Since every student is at
their own level I will give individual attention after a demonstration of the techniques
you will learn. Part of attending this class is learning from each other. At the end of
the painting sessions I would like to have a “sharing session” to share with the class
what you’ve been working on. The goal is to have at least one finished painting at
the end of this workshop.

Required Supplies to bring:
Soft pastels; with a good range of values and colors; I suggest a range of grays, darks & light
colors. Several sheets of sanded paper (kitty wallis white works great) 9”x12” or larger.
Foamboard and masking tape (to attach your paper to)
Old bristle brush
Easel and floor covering (a large old sheet works well)
Wet wipes

Please contact Mary Giacomini for questions about supplies at:
mmg@lpbroadband.net
Optional Supplies to bring:
I will have reference photos that you can use but you are welcome to bring
your own reference photos.
Pastel pencils
Workshop Price:
$150.00

Creative Capitol Art Show

I just delivered two of my images, "Rocky Mountain High" and "The Loch" to Denver International Airport yesterday. These are canvas giclees that were juried into a show of North West Colorado Artists. The show will be hung next week on Concourse "A "until the end of May. Then the entire exhibit moves to the State Capitol of Colorado in Denver for the summer.

Both of these originals have been sold but canvas giclees can be made in a variety of sizes with a limited edition of 250.
