Flathead Lake paintings

I made the drive over Trail Ridge Road (Rocky Mountain National Park) to bring some new paintings to sell at the Grand Lake Gallery (Grand Lake, Colorado) a few days ago.  "Unwind"(pastel-left) and "Secluded" (oil-right) are paintings inspired by Flathead Lake in Kalispell, Montana.  These paintings are for sale through the gallery.

New Painting: Longs Peak from Trail Ridge Road

"Longs Peak from Trail Ridge Road" is a new 12.5" x 22" oil painting that I recently finished and framed.  The view is on top of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado with Longs Peak, the tallest mountain in the park at 14,255 feet.  I first painted this pallet for the Alzheimers Association benefit (right/sold) and decided to increase the size.

Landscape or Portrait?

Here is an example of the same scene painted two different ways: landscape and portrait. I painted the scene on the top first. (pastel, sold)  I decided to crop the scene and enlarge it to create, "Gold Rush" a 30" x 15" pastel that won jurors choice in a Loveland, Colorado show.
(Gold Rush canvas giclees are available in a variety of sizes at artforconservation.com The trail is one of my favorites in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado and my favorite time of year: autumn.
