Chilson Center Winter classes by Mary Giacomini 2010

These are the Winter 2010 classes for adults and children that I will be teaching at the Chilson Recreation Center in Loveland, Colorado...

Elementary Drawing & Painting
Learn to create depth by shading simple shapes and learn to draw what you see. Each class will be a different project, art lesson and medium including charcoal, tube watercolor, acrylic paint, and watercolor dye. Learn about line, value, mixing colors, and composition. The instructor will supply all materials needed. We do supply aprons, but wear old clothes since some of the mediums do stain. A $10 supply fee is due to the instructor at the first class.

Basics of Drawing: Adults
Workshops with Mary Giacomini
Have you ever wanted to have or refresh
the drawing skills you think might be inside of you? Sign up for one or for all three workshops. No experience necessary. Supply list is provided at time of registration for each workshop. Min. 6/ Max.10 (Ages 14+)
$30 per workshop
We will learn the very basics of drawing that you will be able to apply to many creative projects and painting. Practice what you see using the right side of your brain and also techniques to make sketches more realistic. We will go over contour drawing, shading and more.
Class #25914-1 M, 2/1, 6:30-9:00pm
This workshop will focus on compositions
of drawing, texture and negative space as well as proportion and the many types of lines that can be used while drawing.
Class #25914-2 M, 2/8, 6:30-9:00pm
Learn to draw a landscape and to put all of the things you’ve learned together. More detail will be given on perspective and depth. We will practice drawing from photos or you may bring a picture you might like to try to draw. The class is small so each student will get plenty of individual attention.
Class #25914-3 M, 2/22, 6:30-9:00pm

Snowy & Sweet Art for Tots
Play with art materials to see the budding
artist within your 3 or 4 year old. Projects will
be different each week; themes will be Winter
and Valentines Day. Finger paint, sculpt with
model magic and glue among other mediums
to create a work of art while working on fine
motor skills. Some days are messy; we supply
aprons, but wear old clothes to be safe.
Parents are encouraged, but not required to
attend with their child. A $5 supply fee is due
to the instructor on the first day of class.
Min. 4/Max. 8 (Ages 3-4) No Class 2/15.
Class #25771-1 M, 2/1-3/1, 9:15-10:00am
Preschoolers Art Camp
We’ll use different types of paint (including
finger paint), sculpt, glue, cut and more. We
will use a different snowy winter or valentine
theme project with each class. Things can
get messy so wear old clothes since the aprons
we provide don’t always cover everything.
Parents are welcome but not required to
attend with their child. $5 supply fee, paid to
the instructor at the first class. No Class 2/15.
Min. 4/Max. 8 (Ages 4-6)
