Mary Giacomini is a Colorado artist who loves to paint the Rocky Mountain landscape. She paints proficiently in oil, pastel and watercolor. She teaches art classes both out of her studio and for the Loveland Museum Gallery, in Loveland, Colorado.

This pastel is from a favorite hike of a beautiful aspen grove in Rocky Mountain National Park that I plan on hiking in the next few days. The colors should be spectacular!

Watercolor: Beginners class
I will be offering a basics of watercolor class at the Loveland Museum next month. All supplies are included so it's a wonderful chance to try something new without the expense of a supply list. The class will be held at the new "sequel" building next to the museum on Thursdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23 6 – 8:30 pm (register by Sept 24)

YMCA of the Rockies workshop
I will be holding a workshop at the YMCA of the Rockies in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado on March 28 & 29, 2009. Even though is it scheduled for next year, it is something to look forward to and is not too early to reserve your space. The workshop has just been added to their website. The YMCA of the Rockies borders Rocky Mountain National Park and couldn't be a more inspiring place to create art.

Plein air painting

Plein air Watercolor Painting Classes
I am offering two different adult watercolor classes through the Loveland Museum this summer. Both classes will meet outdoors to paint like the Impressionists did.

Art Club (elementary) classes
My second spring session of Art Club & Art Club Jr starts April 28th at the Chilson center in Loveland, Colorado. Children ages 6-8 and 9-14 are welcome to join one of these classes where I introduce a different medium with each class. We've done acrylic, watercolor, sand painting, air dry clay, model magic, scratch board, sticky mylar, charcoal, pastel among other projects. Drawing from Loveland's Past
"Drawing from Loveland's Past" is an adult drawing class I will be teaching at the Loveland Museum May1-22 on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. This beginner to intermediate class (no experience required) will focus on drawing from the exhibits at the museum as well as an antique still life that will be set up. From Composition to Color
Come and join a fun group for a class I'll be teaching at the Loveland museum on March 13, 20 & 27 from 6:30- 8:30 for adults. We'll cover a broad variety, working on composition, transposing & drawing your image then some basic watercolor techniques. This is a great way to go over some basics and/or try something new.
