"Last Light"

"Last Light"

is a -still drying- 8" X 10" oil I just finished.    I was coming down from a hike in Rocky Mountain National Park last fall and caught this brilliant  reflection  on the headwaters of the Little Thompson River in Colorado.   The Aspens were lit up.  This painting is for sale

"Loveland Rocks"

"Loveland Rocks" is a watercolor & acrylic piece I painted for the sake of making Valentine's Day cards.  The scene is a playful imitation of the Devil's Backbone keyhole. (major landmark in Loveland, Colorado) The painting is sold, but I do have cards for sale at the Loveland Museum.  OR you can order some at Cafe Press.

Please CONTACT me if you have any questions.

"Maggie's Chair"

"Maggie's Chair" is a watercolor of my backyard; an Adirondack chair my Dad built, a favorite quilt, a coffee mug & shade under the Aspen trees.  It's what I like and who I am: finding peaceful, beautiful places to get inspired.  The painting sold at the Richard Schmid auction, but it has been professionally scanned and  a limited number of giclees are available through
Art for Conservation.  I do have a 15" X 20" giclee A/P on watercolor paper in inventory for $225.  If you would like to purchase this particular giclee, use the buy now button.

"Reflections of Breckenridge"

"Reflections of Breckenridge" (Colorado) is a large (full sheet) watercolor I sold, but giclees are available through art for conservation on watercolor paper.  The variety and color of these flowers decorating the small restaurant took time and dedication.

Please CONTACT me if you have any questions.

"Soul Mates"

"Soul Mates" is a 7 1/4" X 10" original watercolor painting that is for sale.  The nostalgic rocking chairs on an old porch were easy to find a reference for in Loveland, Colorado.  I added the valentine, red roses and cross stitch picture to go with the Valentine/sweetheart theme.

"Strength"

This is the last in a series of 6 commissioned oil paintings I finished recently for the same client. The painting on birch wood is approximately 22" x 26" and is sold.  She liked the subject matter and golden glow of Bierstadt and  Terpening and the style of Richard Schmid.   Incorporating this with my own style into an autumn view  from their home with the  natural rock formations ( I had no autumn references) made it a challenge but one I'm proud to have finished.  By the time I was working on this last painting I was having fun with my pallet knife and lots of impasto.  The finished project is awesome.  I will have more details on that later as it may be published.

"The Homestead Ranch"

"The Homestead Ranch" is an approximately 22 x 26" original oil on birchwood that I recently completed.   This winter scene of western ranch life in the 1920's is the 5th is a series of 6 paintings completed for a client.  I only had a copy of a old black and white photo to use as reference to recreate what it may have looked like 90 years ago.  This painting is sold but you can see more of my work at theses websites:

"1896 Schoolhouse"

"1896 Schoolhouse" is as 22" x 26" original oil on birch wood painting that is the 4th in a series of 6 historical paintings I recently finished for a private collector.   I needed it to look like the time the school was built in 1896 and it's location in northern Colorado.  I also researched the clothing school children of the late 1800's time period wore  for it to be as authentic as possible.  I a  photo in the local archives and got permission to use it for the painting as reference material.  The school is still used today although many additions and remodels have been added.

Although the paintings are sold and in a private collection, you can purchase prints or giclees through Fine Art America.

Please CONTACT me if you have any questions.

"Brave Souls"

"Brave Souls" is the 3rd in a series of  6 historical oil paintings that I recently finished for a client.  Finding reference material of a covered wagon pulled by a team of oxen  down a gulch in Colorado was tricky since I was going on  only stories told from the area.  Although the paintings are sold and in a private collection, you can purchase prints or giclees through Fine Art America.

Please CONTACT me if you have any questions.

"When the Buffalo Roamed"

"When the Buffalo Roamed" is the second in a series of commissioned  historical Colorado landscapes I have completed.  The original oil on birch wood is approximately 22" x 25".  I  had to use many different reference materials since the wild buffalo are long gone from the Front Range of Colorado.  This painting is sold but is a good example of my style of painting.
Please CONTACT me if you have any questions.

"Alpha" When Wolves roamed Colorado

"Alpha" is an approximately 22" x 26" oil painting on birch wood that was part of a large commission I was part of last year.  Since wolves no longer live  in  Colorado and I needed to show recognizable mountains of the area too, I  had to use many different reference materials.  This painting is sold but is a good example of my style of painting.
