Art Auction

I have donated a framed print of "San Juan Capistrano" to the New Vision Charter School's art auction which will be held April 1st at 6pm. Proceeds will go to art supplies at the school.

Drawing from Loveland's Past

"Drawing from Loveland's Past" is an adult drawing class I will be teaching at the Loveland Museum May1-22 on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. This beginner to intermediate class (no experience required) will focus on drawing from the exhibits at the museum as well as an antique still life that will be set up. BEACH BREAK!

Escape to the tropics this spring break by painting watercolor scenes
from the beach. You are welcome to bring your own photo references but
there will be many to choose from at the Art Center. Since all supplies
are included it's a great chance to see if you like working with
watercolor by learning some basics & tricks of the medium. No

Spring Show

"Andrews Glacier" (oil) was accepted into the Artist Association of Northern Colorado's National Show for 2008. The show is held at the Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins, CO and the opening is April 5 from 5-8pm. This is a must see, prestigious show which will run through April.

"Sandstone Soldier"

This image is from garden of the gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This 7.5" x 7 .5" watercolor with acrylic will be for sale at Mountain Living Studio in Manitou Springs. This piece and "Granite Guardians" are the same size and framed identically and would make a nice pair for your art collection.

"Granite Guardians"

This new 7.5" x 7.5" watercolor with acrylic painting will be for sale at Mountain Living Studio in Manitou Springs, Colorado when I do a changeover there February 29. These rocks are part of Lumpy Ridge in Rocky Mountain National Park. I see characters within the rocks.

Lake View

This is my design "Lake View" which will be painted on a 5' fiberglass heart this spring. This is one of Engaging Loveland's heart sculptures to be displayed throughout Loveland (Colorado) beginning July 2008. My design was chosen and is sponsored by Columbine Health Systems.

From Composition to Color

Come and join a fun group for a class I'll be teaching at the Loveland museum on March 13, 20 & 27 from 6:30- 8:30 for adults. We'll cover a broad variety, working on composition, transposing & drawing your image then some basic watercolor techniques. This is a great way to go over some basics and/or try something new. Champagne & Chocolate...

On Saturday, February 16, Engaging Loveland is putting an an "unveiling" of designs of the 11 heart sculptures that will be painted and/or sculpted with by this May. The event is from 6:30-8:30pm at the Ranch Thomas McKee 4H Community Building in Loveland, Colorado. The event is free, however if you wish to sample desserts & champagne the cost is $10 per person. My design was chosen by a sponsor and I am anxious to start the big project and excited to have my heart sculpture on permanent display in Loveland. More details to follow...

"Quilted Love"

This colored pencil & ink painting is at the Lincoln Gallery's annual SweetArt Show for the month of February. The opening on February 8th will be part of 2nd Friday art walk in Loveland.

miniature painting

"Loch Vale" is a 8" X 4" pastel I painted that will be in the miniature show at the Western Spirit Art Show in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The opening is March 1, 2008 in the evening and is one of the best openings I have attended. I have 3 other paintings that were juried into this show which runs through the month of March at the Old West Museum in Cheyenne.

Portrait Drawing

I've been attending various portrait and figure drawing sessions to work on my drawing skills. I painted this portrait on suede board in a session last week at Wilds Art Center in Loveland, Colorado.

"Loveland Rocks"

"Loveland Rocks" is 8.25 x 6" ( watercolor with acrylic) painting I created with the inspiration of the "Devils Backbone" rock formation which is just west of Loveland, Colorado. I did have fun playing with the hearts, but if you hike to the keyhole you will see that there are actually hearts hidden in the rocks. I've made this image into note cards for Valentine's Day (Loveland is the Valentine capitol) or anytime.
