Impressionism class

I am teaching  an "Impressionism" class at the Loveland Museum Gallery Wednesday, Nov 2 for 3rd-6th grades. More details .   
I have painted a variety of Impressionistic landscapes over the years.  This pastel is sold but other prints can be purchased through fine art america.

The Loveland Art Studio Tour 2011 was a success. I had lots of visitors, patrons and friends visit my studio Oct 15 & 16.  I sold a framed  24" x 30" canvas giclee of "Moraine Park Fishing", a commissioned pastel.  I do not have more of these on hand, but they can be ordered through art for conservation.

Preview Show

"Priorities"

The preview show for the Loveland Art Studio Tour is Friday October 14th (2011) at the Loveland Museum Gallery in Loveland, Colorado from 6-8pm.  Each  of the 48 artists in the tour will have an example piece of artwork on display at the Foote Gallery.  I have my oil, "Priorites" on display.  It's up to you to figure out what your priority is: fresh coffee, peaceful morning by the mountain lake or fishing...

Loveland Art Studio Tour 2011

I will be participating in the 3rd annual Loveland Art Studio Tour and Sale October 15 & 16, 2011.  I have been involved with the studio tour from the start and am on the steering committee.  Since gaining a much larger studio within my home, this year I will host the studio tour at my own studio just west of Loveland, Colorado.  The tour hours are 9-5 Saturday and Sunday.

Art Club openings

I will begin teaching a series of Art Club Classes at the Chilson Recreation Center (Loveland, Colorado) beginning Oct 5, 2011.  Both classes will run and have a few spots left.

Art Club Jr's: Painting
Experiment with a variety of painting mediums while learning
some basic art principles. Also learn about mixing colors while
your child experiences working with watercolors, acrylic, watercolor
dye and sand painting. We will finish a new project and try a
new medium with each class. Aprons are provided, but wear old
clothes. A $10 supply fee is due to the instructor at the first class.

Island Lake

Island Lake

"Island Lake" is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.  I stumbled upon this  lodge and Provencal Park near Fernie, British Columbia Canada last summer. While I hiked in old growth forests around this quiet mountain lake,  I was constantly taking reference pictures as I was inspired the entire time.  I want to return and stay longer.

Climate Change Reversed

"Fresh"

My painting "Fresh" won 1st place in the Fine Art America contest "Climate Change Reversed."  I started this oil painting as a plein air in my back yard.  I then brought it back in the studio for a bit of tweaking.  This painting is currently for sale at Mountain Living Studio in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

Pastels on 5th; sidewalk art pictures

I participated in "Pastels on 5th" on September 10, 2011.  The one day event raised $10,000 for Alternatives to Violence.  60 artists united and painted sidewalk art for sponsors who donated to the event.  More pictures can be seen at

Pastels on 5th

Tomorrow morning I will be painting a 4' square of sidewalk  with pastels for the art event: "Pastels on 5th" in downtown Loveland, Colorado.  The event is raising money for Alternatives to Violence and has 50 artists with sponsors on board.  Art of the Rockies is a beautiful downtown gallery and frame shop that is sponsoring me.  The event is free and open to the public.  There will be food, music and drinks available as well as a children's area.  Come and see why Loveland, Colorado is an artsy city!
