The reference I used was from a photo I had taken in late Autumn, right after an early snow. The snowy pines with Aspen trees reflective scene is just outside of Estes Park, Colorado.
I created an underpainting using Alizarin Crimson so I could have a warm undertone in the relatively cool landscape. |
This is how I progressed on this painting. I tweak until I feel like I'm getting what I like.
I decided to let it snow and also added swirls in the water from the falling snow.
